Grant Making Policy

Organisation: West Oxfordshire Performing Arts Foundation (WOXPAF) & Oxfordshire Festival of Speech, Drama & Musical Theatre (OFSDMT)

1. PURPOSE

 

This policy outlines the procedures and criteria for awarding financial support through fee waivers and future bursaries to individuals participating in WOXPAF activities. The aim is to ensure equitable access to the performing arts, regardless of financial circumstances, and to support artistic development based on merit and potential.

 

2. FEE WAIVERS

 

WOXPAF offers fee waivers to individuals who are unable to participate in its programmes due to financial constraints. These waivers apply to entry fees for festival classes, workshops, and other activities.

 

2.1 Eligibility Criteria

  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Completion of a confidential application form
  • Commitment to participate in WOXPAF activities

2.2 Application Process

  • Applicants must submit a fee waiver application form prior to the registration deadline.
  • Applications will be reviewed by the Board of Trustees.
  • All information will be treated confidentially.

2.3 Decision-Making

  • Decisions will be made by majority vote of the trustees.
  • Applicants will be notified within 14 days of submission.
  • Fee waivers are granted on a case-by-case basis and subject to available funding.
    • Participation in adjudicated festival classes

3. BURSARIES

 

WOXPAF plans to introduce bursaries in future years to support individuals in pursuing further education or training in the performing arts. These bursaries will be awarded based on adjudicator feedback during the festival.

 

3.1 Eligibility Criteria

  •  Positive feedback from adjudicators indicating artistic potential
  • Demonstrated interest in further education or training in the arts

3.2 Selection Process

  • Adjudicators will nominate candidates based on performance quality and potential.
  • Trustees will review nominations and confirm bursary awards.
  • Bursaries may be used for tuition, training programmes, or related educational expenses.

4. GOVERNANCE AND REVIEW

 

All grant-making decisions will be recorded in trustee meeting minutes. This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains aligned with WOXPAF’s charitable objectives and available resources.
